About

Welcome to my Lyn Olsen website.

Exciting new offers and contemporary artworks with a marine theme.

I have been painting since 2001 after an early retirement and having time on my hands. Travelling my homeland, Australia, with my husband, who is a keen photographer, the deserts, rain forests, vast expanses of windswept plains, natural bush land, farming, cities, country towns, and of course the beautiful coast that surrounds this great land, have inspired my works over the years.

Lyn Olsen Artist Profile FunkyHaving lived in most of these areas, I am drawn to the coast, in particular, the east coast of Australia where we currently live in the beautiful state of Queensland. The wonderful Great Barrier Reef runs from far north Queensland down past central Queensland along the coast. We are very proud to have this icon which is listed as one of the Seven Wonders Of The World on our doorstep.

My art career has evolved over the years from a “dabble” in painting to nearly a full time career. Teaching, exhibiting, and holding workshops keep me busy on the home front. I enjoy showing my works overseas and having exhibited in New York, Italy and Miami, Florida has given me “self belief” and the drive to continue forward into the next phase of my career.

Acceptance into art publications and featured in an episode of Colour In Your Life TV Show which has been shown in Australia and other countries has opened many doors.  I have been busy conducting workshops in many states of Australia and recording online workshops for those who cannot attend in person.

Please feel free to contact me for a commission of your favourite subject. Corporate and private commissions are very welcome.

In closing,  I would welcome the opportunity to work with you to develop ideas for your special addition to your home.

Yours In Art

Lyn

    Hi Lyn,

I’m very inspired by your works and I’ve been thinking about picking it up again. Are you in Melbourne some time this year and will you be holding any classes?

Also I’ve seen some art in Port Douglas (I think it was there) which has a very shiny almost glass like finish with a really bright finish, would you know what kind of art method that is called as I’d like to learn that as well as your technique.

If you could find the time to call me that would be really great!

    Thanks
    Claudio

Hi Claudio. If you sign up for the email on this website Lyn can be in touch to plan some workshops. This site is new and I am helping Lyn set up some systems to connect with like minded artists and students. I am her daughter, and so very proud! Lyn will be on here to comment also, once I get home to show her how. For now, the newsletter sign up is a great way to know you are in the loop. Cheers, Leanne

    Hullo Lyn
A fellow artist saw you on Colour Your World and so I checked out your work. Love the colour and flow, I live in South Australia so I don’t know when or if you would hold a workshop here or even Melbourne or Perth is doable.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Regards Annette

What an inspiration Lyn is, not to mention a beautiful spirited artist who paints from the heart not from the text book. I also paint from the heart, unfortunately not to the beautiful standards as Lyn, so I would love to attend a workshop by Lyn. I live in canberra and would love to sign up for the newsletter.
what a delight it was to watch you on TV.

    Kind regards, Susan
